Within his time in the company, he has learned the processes of building and created the relationships necessary to excel. He now expertly manages all residential construction schedules and activities while providing direction to multiple Teammates. He manages all project costs to meet budget and predicts the resources needed to complete projects. Jon also utilizes his experience as a Special Operations Communicator and provides the company with IT support and client consulting on technology while also implementing our client communication processes, which have greatly improved the customer experience.
Jon and his wife, Dannielle, who also retired from Army as a competitive skydiver for the Army’s Golden Knights, have four children. The oldest, Cameron currently resides in San Antonio, Texas, and is a career salesman. Their oldest Daughter, Alayna, was a competitive gymnast and is now attending North Carolina State University. Their youngest daughter, Avery, is a competitive dancer, and their youngest son, Cooper enjoys everything outdoors with Dad. They both currently manage careers, children, and the daily operation of their 54-acre farm “Standing Oak Farm.”
Jon is originally from Long Beach, California, he spent his youth playing sports, riding horses, and learning how to work on cars. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army in 1996.
Jon retired from the United States Army after 25 years of service. The latter half of his career was within the Joint Special Operations Command and culminated as a Squadron Sergeant Major within the Joint Communication Unit.
Upon retiring from the Army, Jon and Dannielle felt led by God to plant roots in North Carolina. They purchased 25 acres of land in West End, NC, and hired Mabus Farm and General Contracting (MFGC Inc.) to build their forever home. With Seth and Jon having a previous relationship they knew they wanted MFGC to build for them and 10 months into our building, Seth offered Jon an opportunity to join the MFGC team.
Jon joined the Team working as a Superintendent while learning the industry. He quickly moved into a Project Manager role while continuing to hone his skills in construction. Most recently, Jon was the Senior Project Manager on the Team responsible for multiple projects and personnel and is now the Vice President of Construction. His more than 2 decades of leadership and managerial experience leading Soldiers, and managing resources, has directly translated into his current position.
